In depth

Verdict

Mr Splodge gets the call here ahead of Bold Tactics, Shoveontommy, Bankersdraft and Gentlemans Relish. The selection has been doing well in point-to-points of late, polishing up on his jumping in the process. If recent form counts for anything, he should go well, although Gentlemans Relish was rated about the equal of him under Rules. Shoveontommy and Bankersdraft are other pointing winners that should be monitored in the betting, while Bold Tactics is clearly better than he showed last time as he was sent off as favourite. As ever with these types of races, pay heed to the betting but, without that, we will side with Mr Splodge.
