Verdict

Only four runners have stood their ground for this handicap and with none of them guaranteed to like the under hoof conditions plus all of them make handicap debuts here we'll side with form and VIVACHI with Mayolynn and Arashi in close proximity. Having looked progressive in maidens all over this trip so far the selection finished second best last time well ahead of a subsequent winner. However it is his performance on his penultimate effort that suggests he is well treated rated at 70 here as he finished just a neck behind an animal who has since won off a mark of 80. Mayolynn's progression was halted a bit when stepping down in trip last time. The suspicion is she'll be better with the extra furlong to face here but she's not obviously well weighted. Arashi defied his odds to confirm his progressive profile on his last run when finding just a useful looking sort too good over course and distance. That run suggests he's competitively rated and he should go well. Major Value will have to show an improvement now stepping up in trip but that's not out of the question so in a very trappy small field race Vivachi looks the best treated.
