In depth

Verdict

Puskas is well treated in this conditions event and is set score over Charles Darwin, Angus Newz and Gamble In Gold. Officialy rated 100, Puskas only has to give four-pounds to Charles Darwin here despite being rated nine-pounds superior. So, hopes are high that he can return to action in the sort of form that saw Mick Channon's gelding beaten less than two lengths by Prince Of Light in the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes at Newmarket last September. Charles Darwin actually finished ahead of the selection when they met at York later, but Puskas just got outpaced early that day, and the conditions of today's contest give him leading claims of turning the tables. Angus Newz lined up against Flashy Wings no less on her Newmarket debut 12 months ago and has been very consistent since. However, her overall level of form gives her something to find, a comment that also applies to Gamble In Gold, and so we return to Puskas as the answer.
