Verdict

An informative little contest to get things underway. Formal Bid has done very little wrong in his outings this season but was well held in a decent race at Huntingdon last time. He should make a race of things but is starting to look exposed. The same sentiments apply to Idealko, who needs to step up on what he has shown so far pretty quickly if he is to make further progress. Spider Music hinted at ability in a couple of decent looking bumpers last season and will be a big danger to all if he takes to hurdles. However, it is difficult to escape the claims of Tip Kash, whose hurdles bow could hardly have been more impressive. He has plenty of scope for improvement and will be monitored by TEAMtalk until the handicapper gets his measure in a few outings time.
