Tahreek is a hard puller who is still 6lb higher than when successful at Nottingham in June. Makambe has won two of his last three, however, though it was only by a nose that he prevailed over course and distance last time and he’s gone up a further 6lb. Fondest disappointed at Yarmouth but that was her first run since winning on soft going at Haydock in April. Two For Two was a little out of his depth at Ripon last week but the better ground here will help and Roger Fell’s 10-year-old has place claims. GHAYYAR could be the interesting one as his only poor recent run came in a ladies’ race over an inadequate 7f at Ascot. Rachel Richardson gets on really well with Tim Easterby’s charge, who is not badly treated. Mostahel is still unexposed and has form over track and trip so is preferred to the consistent Biotic of the others.
