Michael Jarvis won this race in 2005 and 6 which is good enough for us to award our vote to Meshtri although the presence of Authorized's half-brother, Empowered, in the field should make for a fascinating contest. There's an awful lot of dead wood in this heat and those two colts stand out from the crowd with Asian Classic and Downhiller perhaps best of the rest. Downhiller will improve as he steps up in trip and looks sure to win races but he's clearly vulnerable to an above average performer. All eyes will be on Empowered who still holds an entry in the Guineas but hopefully his presence will create the market for the selection who is a 280,000 euro son of Dalakhani. Michael Jarvis has his string in good form and Meshtri may be able to make his debut a winning one.
