    Verdict

A good sprint and a good chance too for ROACH POWER to shed his maiden tag. The Ribchester colt has been runner-up on three of his four starts and his most recent run when second in a Ripon maiden now rates a whole lot better after the winner went on to land a useful Chester handicap last weekend, The selection travels well through his races and hopefully Rob Hornby will bide his time and swoop pretty late. Gisburn has the steadier of 9-11 but will appreciate the return to 6f and can hardly get in as much trouble as when last seen at Goodwood. Expect him to go well, along with the consistent Devaste, who went so close in a hot York sprint last time.
