    Verdict

A winner at Bath last month, Solidarity sports Godolphin's first colours ahead of Anglophile though neither have form in today's underfoot conditions. A visor replaces the more usual blinkers on Polytrack winner Our Gabriel as he steps up in trip while both Empress Ali and Champagne Rules have run well in soft ground before but were well beaten last time. The latter looks less than straightforward so it could pay to stick with SPECTATOR, whose penalty for winning in the mud at Chepstow last week is negated by Kieran Shoemark's 7lb claim.

Champagne Rules 12-1 (9-3) Raced wide, held up in touch, headway on outside halfway soon chasing leaders, hung badly right on home turn and ended on stands rail, behind and no chance after, eased, last of 6, 24l behind Latenightrequest (9-1) at Pontefract 1m 2f 3yo hcp 0-85 (4) gd in Apr.
