    Verdict

Play That Tune looked a bright prospect when making a winning return at Newmarket's Guineas meeting and is taken to follow up at the chief expense of Air Adair and Elidore. Henry Cecil's well-bred filly confirmed the promise of two useful juvenile efforts when a convincing winner of a maiden over this trip, showing a smart turn of foot to assert her authority in the closing stages. The three-year-old has stamina on the dam's side of her pedigree but this daughter of Zilzal has shown an abundance of speed and this trip could prove her optimum at this stage of her career. Air Adair showed useful form when landing a Salisbury maiden last term but refused to settle on her next start when well held in the Fillies Mile. John Gosden's charge made an inauspicious seasonal return when attempting to run out in a Listed event in Italy so the daughter of Storm Cat clearly has her share of temperament. The fitting of first time blinkers dampens enthusiasm still further and the three-year-old is probably best watched on this occasion. Elidore merits respect on the pick of her juvenile form including wins in a Kempton maiden and a Windsor minor event and may have been unsuited by soft ground when disappointing on her final start last term but should give a good account if fit for her return.
