Diamond Monroe rarely runs a bad race and can land this event from Strong Magic and Spring Lover. Nicky Henderson's gelding was a decent enough hurdler and didn't do too badly on his chasing debut when third behind Harrycone Lewis. He should improve for that effort and may give weight and a beating to some moderate rivals. The best of the others could be Strong Magic who landed an Ascot event last time from Ice Cool Lad. It wasn't too strong an affair but the twelve-year-old did win nicely against some younger rivals. Spring Lover hasn't raced over fences for almost two years. That race was in the French provinces when he beat none other than Crystal D'Ainay. He hails from an inform yard so has to be respected back over the larger obstacles. Of the others Quainton Hills has fair recent form and could be fighting for a place, however Diamond Monroe looks the one to be on.
