Just six go to post for our first event and it looks to be a good opportunity for Don Fernando to gain his first victory over fences, with Master Rex and California Son set to fight for the place money.. Martin Pipe's high class hurdler came up against L'Aventure at Doncaster in January where he wasn't quite foot perfect. He will improve for the experience and will appreciate this drop back to two miles. Today's opposition doesn't appear to be too strong and Master Rex could be the one to chase home the selection. Like Don Fernando he was a very good hurdler and has come up against some useful types on his two ventures over fences. If there are any slip ups by the Pipe runner Master Rex could be the one to benefit. California Son was only a selling hurdler when with Chris Popham but has been doing well over fences in France and will come on for his recent outing at Wetherby. The other three entrants have all shown ability but Don Fernando should have the class to beat them all.
