Verdict

A nice prize has attracted a strong field headed at the weights by Shanroe, who bounced back to winning ways to beat the smart Mt Leinster over this trip at the Galway Festival. Mon Coeur had been in good form before gaining a deserved success over 1m4f on heavy ground at Galway. He stays this trip and won't mind quicker conditions. JESSE EVANS won an amateurs' race at Leopardstown before a brilliant run in the Galway Hurdle when beaten a head. Robert Whearty's claim puts him on a very fair mark on the level and he can claim the seventh victory of his career. Marvelosa has run consistently well since losing her maiden tag at Sligo and stablemate Last Ammo stayed on strongly to beat Mon Coeur over an extended 2m at Galway when Mr Escobar, who wasn't right, finished tailed off.
