Pirolo won a couple of handicaps earlier in the season but has suffered in the weights accordingly as has Carvelas for his victory at Wolverhampton and he was behind LUCCA (NAP) at Tipperary last month. The winner is 6lb higher but is lightly-raced and has the scope to do much better so gets the nod. Free State was a long way behind in that latter event and is best on the all-weather and though Set To Fire gained his first victory at Gowran that was his 23rd start and he's never been over this far. Weightfordave continues to look well treated but has now been a beaten favourite in his last four starts.
