Verdict

Tennis Cap made his long awaited debut over fences after a long absence at Naas in March and started odds-on but made numerous mistakes and was beaten 40 lengths by ROSSVOS. He showed that to be all wrong when scoring easily at Cork before pulling up in much better company at Punchestown. Ted Walsh's charge wasn't in his class as a hurdler but is clearly much better over fences and should confirm the form. Azorian has been taking on very strong company since his victory on heavy ground at Navan in March while Bridgets Pet, a very smart hurdler, would have finished runner-up on his chasing bow at Tipperary in October and should be winning soon. Shesaportrait was a 50/1 chance when runner-up to the classy Vroum Vroum Magic at Limerick and if able to replicate that run would be a major threat to all.
