Desertmore House looked a smart staying handicapper in the making when landing a beginners' chase over course and distance then didn't run badly over a trip too short at Galway. However, he finished behind QUANTUM REALM in the latter event and the selection, who completed a hat-trick on good ground last summer, would be difficult to beat in that kind of form. Gondor could have his say after beating Rudy Catrail at Killarney while Mica Malpic has won over the trip and scored easily over 2m3f here a couple of weeks ago so a 9lb rise doesn't look excessive. My Design has been in winning form over hurdles but she'd been going well over fences earlier in the year and should get into the action.
