In depth

Verdict

Asymmetric Sam was in the process of creating a shock on his racecourse debut in a Thurles maiden hurdle when he led at the last only to crumble on landing. He's since performed only moderately in a couple of strong bumpers but jumping looks to be his game. Holyrood, a winner on the flat at Yarmouth for Sir Michael Stoute, made a reasonable debut over timber behind Flat Out at Sligo and should improve but the form pick here is TIME MACHINE. Robert Hennessy's charge, a winner on fast ground at Newmarket last summer for John Gosden, ran a close third to the useful Pittoni at Punchestown on New Year's Eve and was just touched off over a mile at Limerick a month ago. He didn't run so well back at Punchestown last time but this looks more his grade.
