In depth

Verdict

The four-year-old Bachelor carries a penalty for his Flat victory but was still in front when falling at the last in the race won by the ill-fated Sir Erec at Leopardstown in December. Cats For Cash disappointed in his first two starts over hurdles but was a different proposition here last month where he may have won but for a couple of poor jumps. He was conceding the winner 12lb so looks certain to go well though UNION GAP will take some beating. Noel Meade's charge was narrowly beaten in a big field of maidens at Cork in December and two recent runs on the Flat will have put him straight for this. Miami Beach hasn't really got going in big fields of maidens but is definitely the type to do better while Aileens Joy ran very well for a 100/1 chance here last month when not too far behind Cats For Cash.
