A low grade apprentice race and ERINJAY will be a popular order in this contest with Ocean Legend and Aflaam likely to provide most food for thought. Despite starting at odds of 20/1 in a maiden, Michael Wigham's charge really sparkled on the track and while the handicapper has had to take a guess as to the validity of that form. it will be interesting to see if the market gives his assessment a thumbs up or a complete swerve.Ocean Legend is turned out quickly under a penalty. This track has required prominent racers and he is likely to be in the firing line. Aflaam battled on stoutly to win at Lingfield Park last week. A 4lb rise does not look to be unduly harsh under the circumstances. Alqaahir did all but win at Wolverhampton. The handicapper has shown a degree of mercy by not lifting him any higher up the handicap for that near miss. Teen Ager is having his first run for some time though we suspect he might be a better prospect around Lingfield Park. Very Well Red won over course and distance earlier in the month and Kieren Fox appears an eyecatching booking. Prince Rossi won twice at Chepstow. Although his two wins have come at lesser grade, a record of two from two at this racecourse is numerically better than any of his rivals. Not the strongest of finales though Erinjay could be more than capable of further progression.
