A very open race here can go the way of Eila ahead of recent winner St Pancras and Ful Of Grace. The selection may have found the ground a little quick for her last time out at Warwick and now back on a slower surface (won on soft ground at Folkestone in January), she looks sure to run well. She may not be the best-treated on a mark of 81 but she should be capable of a better run than last time. Chariot ran well when we last saw him but he is no star and his stable are not exactly on fire at present, so a more likely danger may be St Pancras. Chris Bealby's eight-year-old has a rather harsh looking 10lbs hike in the weights to contend with and it is unlikely that he would welcome much more wet weather. Sea Cookie needs watching in the betting on his handicap debut getting the weight-for-age allowance, whilst Purr won a seller at Fakenham but this will be a different test despite the nice racing weight. At a price Cavendish could run well as a rare jumps runner for James Eustace, however we will return to Eila to small stakes.
