Banoge has shown enough ability to suggest that he can win races but Len Lungo's gelding has not progressed with his racing and preference is for O'Sogood, who gets the vote ahead of Calin Royal. The last mentioned has come back after a two year absence this season and run with some promise in his last two starts although it is with some concern that he was down for some time when falling late on at Ayr last time and Howard Johnson's gelding may be best watched after that. Don McCain's Classic Chic has shown only glimmers of ability in two bumpers so far and is probably best watched on his hurdling debut, while Another Charmer may need another confidence booster over hurdles before going back over the larger obstacles. The vote then goes to George Moore's O'Sogood, who showed useful form in bumpers and has shown gradual improvement over hurdles so he gets the verdict.
