      Verdict

      The Absent Mare is 10lb higher than when scoring over C&D in November but has ran well enough since to suggest she's up to winning off today's mark, while Ministry is another C&D winner with claims having raced over hurdles so far this year. Russian George could figure with a 7lb claimer on board and Vertueux has outside claims but a chance is taken on GILDED AGE. He was beaten five lengths over C&D last month but in better company than this and today's drop in class could be the catalyst for a return to winning ways.
