In depth

Verdict

Rangali Island battled on to lead right on the line over this trip at Chelmsford, when Merchant Of Venice was fourth, and has only been raised 1lb. However, he was previously 6 lengths behind Normal Norman over this track and trip and there doesn't appear any reason for a form reversal. KING'S SLIPPER made a successful reappearance last year over today's course and distance so the lack of a run shouldn't be a problem. He competed at a higher level subsequently and has dropped to a winnable mark. Trevithick's two victories have been on Tapeta at Newcastle while Masham Star has finished last in his four latest runs.
