The colts get their chance in the Easter Stakes with Capable Guest getting the vote ahead of Kings Quay and Leo's Lucky Star. The last mentioned looked one to keep on the right side of when winning his first two starts as a juvenile but subsequent efforts in better races at Sandown and Doncaster leave something to be desired and the son of Forestry now has it all to prove again. Fulke Johnson Houghton's Beaver Patrol has shown plenty of speed and is far from certain to stay a mile so a bigger threat may come from Kings Quay. Richard Hannon's colt has to give weight away all round as he carries a penalty for his win in the Washington Singer but is bred to improve for the step up to a mile and has to be respected from a yard that does well at this meeting. Rebel Rebel improved throughout last season and is another to consider but the vote goes to Capable Guest. Mick Channon's colt does not know how to run a bad race; stays well and will have no problem with the underfoot conditions.
