This looks a good opportunity for HILLSIDE LAD who is put forward to get the better of All Spin and Shadow Bay. Ralph Beckett has struck form in the last few days and this 3-year-old makes plenty of appeal. He has a good draw, he ran well on his previous run here last season, and he went close last time at Sandown when he finished third behind Sharpened Edge. This race does not look as competitive and he could be primed to take his chance. All Spin has run well in two outings so far this season and he should be suited by this return to 6f. Shadow Bay went close here as a juvenile but he has been a little disappointing on his last two starts and he has a bit to prove at present. The Richard Hannon-trained Compton Blue ran his best race yet at Nottingham earlier in the month and if he can build on that then he could be a player. Hillside Lad ticks plenty of boxes and he should prove tough to beat.
