Play Up Pompey may be able to come home ahead of Bridgewater Boys and Alexander Guru in a tight heat. John Bridger's tough campaigner has been running consistently of late and just needs a change of fortune to get his head in front again. The handicapper has him about right but Neil Chalmers takes 3lbs off his back and if he gets a truly run race this evening, he won't be far away. Bridgewater Boys is a banker for the placepot players and he looks sure to go close but has no room for error from his revised mark. There could be a little more to come from Alexander Guru however as he doesn't have many miles on the clock and could benefit from having got his head in front. Cases can be made for one or two others in an open heat but this trio appeal as the likeliest winners and Play Up Pompey gets the nod.
