There's a form famine for this maiden so after an encouraging first run Richard Hannon's ELUSIVE TRADER is given the nod ahead of Godolphin's newcomer Barlaman while Gold Crusher could be a decent each-way play. It took a while for the pick to get the hang of things on debut on Lingfield's polytrack but he was eye-catching once chasing the leaders and he's bred to go well over sprint trips as a youngster. Godophin's runners traditionally need a debut run before scoring but the boys in blue have had their fair share of first time out successes this season and Barlaman could add to that here. He has a very smart US pedigree so should act on the surface and is entitled for a bold bid. Gold Crusher is probably not as well bred as some of his unraced rivals but having improved from first run to second he can progress again to challenge making experience count. Avenuenalleyways is another interesting newcomer who should run a nice debut, however, with a nice run already Elusive Trader gets the call.
