From a good draw POPLIN gets the vote in this potentially decent maiden. Luca Cumani's filly took an age to understand what was required on her debut over six but should leave that behind now upped to a mile, as she's bred to get 1m2f in time. The fact that she still holds a Fillies' Mile entry is evidence of the regard in which she's held and we fancy Poplin to get the better of Set To Music. Michael Bell's charge was described as "above average" by Eddie Ahern after he guided her to fourth on debut and, providing she gets cover, a better effort is expected as she too is in the Fillies' Mile. New River wasn't far behind Set To Music on debut and could feasibly improve past her, while Dolcezza may do better with time and so might Be Amazing. Cool Wind is out of a debut winner and needs a market check along with Handicraft, although the fact that Dettori rides Magical Flower suggests we may not see the best of the Johnston newcomer today.
