Pip's Baby gets a narrow vote here ahead of No Recollection and Pothos way. Sylvester Kirk's gelding progressed nicely last season, ending the campaign with a game victory at Southwell. Something looked amiss on his seasonal return at Windsor and he could be on a very good mark if he can return to his form of last year. Pothos Way hit winning form in a Lingfield maiden last time on only his second ever run. He didn't beat much and but is open to plenty of improvement. A bigger threat to the selection may come from No Recollection who ran a solid race over course and distance on his seasonal return. He was reluctant to load and had been rowed along before the end of the back straight, but stayed on well to finish second. Emotive may prove best of the others, but Pip's Baby must go close if he shows his true colours.
