In depth

Verdict

The blinkers and drop in grade can work the oracle for Yamanmickmccann and he can lead Home and Bridge Of Fermoy home. A winner of a maiden here in December, he has struggled in handicap company since then and was beaten a long way on his latest start at Lingfield. His shrewd connections haven't wasted any time in slapping on the headgear and dropping him in grade and he should go close if they have the desired effect. Home's two wins have come on the fibresand at Southwell but he handles this surface and has to be high on any short-list having hit a rich seam of form. Coole Dodger is not without claims on the pick of his efforts but a bigger threat could be Bridge Of Fermoy. He, too, is fitted with a visor for the first time but he didn't run too badly over this course and distance on his return from a short break earlier in the month and he looks to be a danger to all. The vote, though, goes to Yamanmickmccan.
