Verdict
Minnow and Sir Loin were only separated by a head last time and, with William Carson claiming 7lbs today, the former can reverse the placings. Neither Musical Script nor Earl Compton has proved easy to win with but they could give that pair most to do. Ross Atkinson gave Sir Loin a fine ride to record a pillar to post success last time but the pair only had a head to spare from Minnow on the line. Carson, who knows the filly well, takes over from Saleem Golam this evening and his claim could be enough to see the Stuart Williams trained runner land the spoils. Earl Compton continues to perform creditably but is still searching for his first success whilst the handicapper appears to have Musical Script's measure. Thoughtsofstardom has his first run for Michael Wigham and would be of interest if attracting support but Minnow gets the vote in the opener.
