This surface may suit COUNTRY ROAD and Peter Chapple-Hyam's colt is given the nod ahead of newcomer Shubbaan and the once-raced pair of King's Salute and Muzo. A son of Montjeu, the selection has run two bad races so far. Both have occurred on soft ground but he is better rated on his close-up third to Mathaaq at Warwick in August. That form doesn't leap of the page as amazing however this colt can get a win under his belt, perhaps before he heads off over hurdles this winter. King's Salute makes his debut for Mark Johnston today, following one start for Andre Fabre over in Europe. This Kingmambo colt should be watched closely in the betting for signs of confidence. Another son of Kingmambo is newcomer Shubbaan who represents a fairly in-form Marcus Tregoning stable. His dam was high class however it must be a slight worry that he hasn't made the racecourse until now aged four. Franco Is My Name will be qualified for handicaps after this, as will Uncle Keef, whilst the visor is tried for the first time on the Marju filly Alpha Vega. Of more interest is Muzo, a Gone West colt who made $500,000 as a yearling. He was made favourite for his debut at Wolverhampton earlier this month but failed to shine and he will need to step up on that significantly to feature today. The market will provide some further clues, however it is Country Road who we are happy to side with.
