A handicap that looks every bit as competitive as the numbers suggest, but Ile Michel was only just touched off here last time and is taken to go one better, while Royal Storm, Tribal Prince and Scarrottoo are also on the shortlist. The latter is a pound out of the handicap proper, but that is offset by the claim of the talented Lisa Jones and this Zilzal gelding is extremely well handicapped on some of his best form, so cannot be ruled out completely. Tribal Prince is also on a fair mark and was given too much to do when third at Yarmouth last time, so it would be no surprise to see him go close here. Royal Storm likes to dominate, and this progressive four-year-old should be able to have his way here, so could be a tough nut to crack, but we just prefer Ile Michel. Lady Herries' six-year-old began the season with a hat trick of victories, and showed he has not finished yet when going down by just a head to Convent Girl over today's course last time out. That was over a mile, and the return to what appears to be his favourite trip here could just be enough to see Ile Michel record his fourth win of the year.
