In depth

Verdict

Finula has been beaten out of sight in two starts since landing a Huntingdon maiden in March, though this isn’t the strongest novice event ever staged here. GIBBES BAY ran a strange race when fifth at Ascot, occupying several positions before rallying off the home turn and staying on at one pace. He’ll likely improve for that experience and looks the form pick here. Nicky Henderson’s pair Le Dauphin and Milzipa look closely matched but are only modest. Kardinero was placed at Fontainebleau in November but is having his first run for new connections.
