A modest opener despite a few of these having the potential to be better than they’ve shown so far. Focaccia ran his best race to date when second at Doncaster in November but Passmore was disappointing in first-time headgear at the same track two weeks later. Fixed Rate has the more recent form but his second at Hereford last month doesn’t amount to much. ZANTE is clearly no world-beater but dropping back to 2m after his sixth at Taunton will help, as will the 8lb that William Clarke is able to claim. Canadian Diamond ran on the Flat at the start of the month and looks best of the rest.
