This doesn't look to be the strongest of maidens and Funseeker can give Mark Johnston yet another juvenile prize, Fair Gale and Bluebell Ridge could provide most danger. Funseeker, as with most of the Johnston two-year-old's, improved on his debut run, finishing a close second behind Quam Celerime. She only has to repeat that sort of effort to have a strong chance tonight. King Columbo and Bluebell Ridge have similar claims having both shown promise on their debut runs. We just prefer the last named as she proved that she handled this surface. The pick of the newcomers has to be Fair Gale. As the name suggest there is some decent hurdling blood in the pedigree, but he is also related to numerous winners on the flat. The market will give more clues to his chances, but on this occasion we will side with experience and plump for Funseeker.
