tracked leader, led 6f out, quickened, well clear over 2f out, eased throughout final furlong very easily
close up third, chased winner over 3f out, no chance from over 2f out
close up last, under pressure over 3f out, kept on to take third 1f out, never dangerous
led until headed 6f out, hard ridden over 3f out, never dangerous afterwards, lost third 1f out
Carenage will rarely get a better chance of winning a race and gets the selection. Consistent, but unable to get her head in front just yet, her third to Doris Souter in a Windsor handicap last time suggested that a step up to 12 furlongs would present her with no problems and she can make that pay. Foxglove looks the danger. Bred to stay this trip and further, she stayed on on her debut at Leicester despite running green and is entitled to improve on that. Fully Fledged finished in the ruck on hers debut and now steps up four furlongs in distance, while Royale Pearl has been well held over shorter trips so far so, in the final analysis, Carenage has an excellent chance.
