    Verdict

Plenty of disappointing types on offer and TRIP SWITCH is our idea of the most likely winner with Steelcut and Compton Classic others worthy of note. Things appear to have gone downhill for William Muir's charge having caught the eye when successful in a maiden at Lingfield. The blinkers are retried but any investments are in hope rather than confidence. Steelcut struggles to win handicaps these days but does at least try in spite of the handicappers best attentions. Nevertheless, any Richard Fahey runner is noted in this company not least on account of the very long journey down from North Yorkshire. Compton Classic needs little introduction to regulars at Kempton Park. He has a tough task on the official figures but he clearly runs his best races over course and distance. High Curragh ran no sort of race at Thirsk and is badly drawn tonight. Hollow Jo and Wreningham have proved difficult to catch right of late though both are more than capable of having a say at this level. Perfect Act drops into the grade for the first time and the market is accordingly watched. Trip Switch is not without reservations though can give us a good run for our money at the likely odds.
