Verdict

GAASSEE defied a penalty at Newcastle to complete a double in novice company. The Haggas colt can improve further now handicapping and makes more appeal than Trevolli. The latter put a frustrating string of placed efforts behind him when scoring at Chelmsford but Jenson Benson’s earlier wins at the same track came over a mile. Epic Pass has been hurdling having been beaten in a seller when last on the Flat.
