In depth

Verdict

BASILICATA came good over track and trip a fortnight ago despite still showing signs of inexperience. There looks more to come from Mark Johnston’s filly and she can confirm running with Spring Time Bay. Emulate Rose showed some promise when third over 6f here ahead of Angels Will Rise and breeding suggests this extra furlong will suit while Wispering Angel finished a bit closer when fourth at Thirsk and also steps up in trip. Valorant is related to three winners and fellow newcomer Last Sunset is the first foal of a winner in France.
