The form in the book suggests this is between Autumn Blades and Steele Tango, with the latter getting the nod on this occasion. The newcomers make limited appeal on pedigree, so Dear Will is taken to be the best of the rest. The James Fanshawe-trained Dear Will is bred to come into his own this year and it would not come as a surprise to see him placed to good effect in due course. However, he already has improvement to find and it would take a leap of faith to jump overboard with him this afternoon. Autumn Blades sets the standard (from a mark of 70) and looks the one they will all have to beat as far as the betting may be concerned. However, he has shown signs of reluctance and is not one to be wading in with at cramped odds. Therefore, we prefer to go with Steele Tango, who is open to bags of improvement and, as his last start was most encouraging, the son of Okawango is fancied to deliver on the promise here.
