Baby Strange found things happening too quickly over five furlongs at Wolverhampton but finished quite well and may yet be able to open his all-weather account but this is very competitive. Silaah, Swiss Cross, Vhujon and Living It Large are all considered but the tentative suggestion is SOAP WARS as he looked to be coming to hand when staying on well at Newmarket last time. He's taken a while to find his feet since joining Jamie Osborne but that has helped his handicap mark slip to an attractive level and he proved far more effective at Dundalk than on the turf in Ireland so there's hope that the switch to an all-weather surface will assist. Bahamian Lad won this race last year from a 2lb higher mark and has claims as his latest run can be ignored as he's run poorly on both visits to Southwell.
