Verdict

Persian Express was good value for his win at Wolverhampton last time but a 5lb rise for that success leaves the Barry Hills-trained filly with more to do and, with October Ben seemingly in the grip of the handicapper at present, the vote goes to Mujood. The selection, like a lot of Fulke Johnson Houghton's runners, has been in good form of late and he remains feasibly well handicapped back on a surface that he handles perfectly well. Regal Sunset would not appear to be particularly well treated for his debut in this grade, while Grimes Faith may struggle to give weight away all round. Willie Jarvis has his string in good order at present so Mataram has to be respected but preference is for Mujood, who is taken to resume winning ways.
