A tough race rounds off the evening and MIX N MATCH is a far from confident selection to bring home the bacon. Summer Lodge and Medieval Maiden are others worth a look in the betting market, while Shavoulin ran well from out of the weights at Goodwood five days ago and can give each-way punters a thrill if he posts a similar effort tonight. The last named is a long-standing maiden, though and, as is the case with many of the rest of the field; isn't noted for consistency. Medieval Maiden has been in good form of late and won a seller at Lingfield in good style last week. This is not much stronger but he is set to carry 6lb extra, so has a bit more to prove. Summer Lodge has won under both codes of racing and arrives here in good heart. David Probert has won on him in the past and, considering that he 4lb below that previous winning mark, he has a live chance on these terms. However, Mix N Match has the better recent form figures and, as he is fit and bouncing from a recent jumps campaign, the switch to the Flat is not expected to inconvenience this son of Royal Applause.
