In depth

Verdict

A couple of these stand out having placed in handicaps last time. Maximum Effect steps up in trip for the Gosden yard having finished third over 1m2f at Chelmsford last month but DUBIOUS AFFAIR was beaten only a short-head at Windsor when clear of the rest. A first-time visor and the presence of Ryan Moore in the saddle could see her go one better in this. Brown Honey had gone close over a mile before finding life tough in Listed company while Bye Bye Lady cost a hefty 725,000gns as a sister to a winner and a half-sister to others with Casual Reply another newcomer to note.
