Gower can beat Penny Post, with Spoof Master and Reebal others worth a mention. With fitness at a premium at this time of the year, the fact that Gower bounced back with a win just 11-days ago gives him leading claims here. Roger Charlton's charge hacked up by five lengths at Wolverhampton, and although in truth he did not have to run up to the level of last season's Turf seconds, a follow-up is very much on the cards. The other runner here with a fitness edge is Penny Post, a dual all-weather winner last November over six furlongs, including on this track. Mark Johnston's filly appears to be the main danger. Spoof Master finished last of eight on his only try at this distance in June, and has his first outing since October. He will be all the better for this, but is at least worth another try over the trip. The booking of Jamie Spencer for Reebal catches the eye, but he has yet to race on an artificial surface, and is another that will benefit from the run. All in all, Gower has more going for him than most, and looks the one to be on.
