Sri Diamond can make fitness count over Imperial Star, Grand Passion, and Charlie Cool, with Chicken Soup likely to make their presence felt. Sri Diamond is reportedly fit and ready again after picking up a leg infection that forced him to miss the Winter Derby at Lingfield recently, and as he does not take much getting ready anyway, is going to take all the beating here. Sylvester Kirk's seven-year-old overcame a nine-month absence to score at Lingfield in January, and as he is equally adept over 10-furlongs, he should take all the beating, especially with good draw in stall ten to help as well. Good enough to win in Group 3 company, this Listed prize is well within his grasp. Imperial Star, a half-brother to Motivator, had his Turf season curtailed by a muscle injury, but a look at his Windsor form suggests that John Gosden has done the right thing in keeping him in training. He will be all the better for his return but is another that can go well first time back. Grand Passion was beaten by the selection in last year's Winter Derby, and also finished behind Charlie Cool when that pair met in the Churchill Stakes at Lingfield in November. However, he ran very well behind Gentleman's Deal recently, and is expected to go close. As for Charlie Cool, he was no slouch on Turf last term, and judged on his close third to Formal Decree in Dubai, he has improved again, having been beaten a total of 12-lengths by that rival in the Cambridgeshire. Chicken Soup was unlucky in running here before going close to making amends in the Listed Doncaster Mile, run at Lingfield, nine days ago, and can also play a leading role. It looks a cracking renewal of the Magnolia Stakes, and one in which Sri Diamond is the pick.
