In depth

Verdict

Martin Pipe's Penny Pictures is entitled to improve for his recent reappearance at Ascot but needs to and preference is for Wet Lips, who gets the verdict over Bed Bug. The last mentioned disappointed at Doncaster last time but has solid claims on earlier form and it could be a mistake to dismiss him entirely. With Jonjo O'Neill's stable coming into form again Dancer Life could be interesting, while the lightly raced Ehab is potentially well treated off a mark of 93 for his handicap debut. Park City and Tremezzo both have long absences to overcome but have to be respected on their best form. However, the vote goes to Wet Lips. Richard Guest's gelding has done little wrong over hurdles and opened his account in good fashion in a handicap at Musselburgh last week. A reproduction of that effort should suffice.
