Alexander Guru is selected ahead of Affrettando and Ginger Pop. The selection was well supported ahead of a recent run in maiden company at Dunstall Park but ultimately failed to deliver. He would not have been helped by the rider dropping his whip but tonight represents a chance to atone. Affrettando is arguably back to his better trip this evening. Eddie Ahern has been booked aboard the Danetime gelding. Ginger Pop is not devoid of ability and has obviously had some problems along the way. The market could prove particularly informative. Towy Girl has shown a glimmer of ability at this track in the past and connections can have few complaints about a favourable draw. Joe Rich hails from a yard not noted for too many flat winners whilst Coloso faced a hopeless task on introduction during the turf season. Not a maiden with too much strength in depth and Alexander Guru is the selection.
