CALIPATRIA entered a few notebooks after her flying finish on debut and now that she should know her job that bit better she can go in at the expense of Curlew and Hamloola in a very winnable race. A beaten favourite on debut the well-bred selection was eye-catching in the finish as she stormed home to take second place late on. She took a while to get going when asked the question but that run should bring her on and John Gosden seems to have found her a good opportunity. Curlew was disappointing on his only start as a two-year-old but looked a different animal when only getting collared on the line to find just the one too good. He's got the benefit of having run on Polytrack and there should be more to come. Hamloola is well bred and was promising enough on debut but it might be best to see if she's trained on this season and Captivator can be given a chance based on her first run. This shouldn't take a great deal of winning and it should be second time lucky for Calipatria.
