In depth

Verdict

DUNRAVEN STORM (NAP) is possibly a bit more consistent than the majority of these and can be excused his latest unplaced effort in the Grand Annual at Cheltenham, where he only weakened on the turn for home. This slightly longer trip should be right up his street and he can concede weight all round. Thomas Crapper finally got off the mark over fences at Newbury and then ran well at Sandown. This may be on the sharp side but blinkers should help him concentrate and Purple 'n Gold looked to be running into form behind easy winner Ruben Cotter at Chepstow last month. The latter's stablemate Fago couldn't be ignored and Parsnip Pete is very well treated nowadays and had been well backed before being withdrawn at Perth a couple of weeks ago.
